7 Adorable Childhood Photos of History’s Worst Monsters

4. Luis Garavito – Colombia’s Most Monstrous Pedophile

This childhood photo shows a seemingly normal Colombian boy, but Luis Garavito would grow up to become one of the worst serial killers in human history. Between 1992 and 1999, he confessed to murdering 193 children—though the real number is believed to be over 300—after subjecting them to unspeakable abuse. He targeted vulnerable street children, often posing as a kind stranger before committing atrocities so horrific that even hardened investigators struggled to read his confessions. The innocent smile in this photo? Pure deception.
