Lev Tahor – The ‘Jewish Taliban’

Lev Tahor – Hebrew for “pure heart” – has been dogged by allegations of child abuse for decades. Women and girls above 3 are required to wear black robes that completely cover their bodies, leading some to call them the “Jewish Taliban”. In December 2024, Guatemalan authorities took 160 minors into custody, alleging forced pregnancy and rape. The group rejects all allegations and accuses governments of religious persecution.
