Forget the belts and the highlight-reel knockouts. The real entertainment in MMA happens when the cage door closes—and the fighters are just genuinely unhinged human beings. From eating pink lingerie on Instagram to holding submissions long after the tap and faking a military career before committing murder, these six fighters have done things so bizarre they make Conor McGregor look like a saint. Here are the craziest MMA fighters who ever stepped into the octagon.

Conor McGregor — The Dolly Incident That Injured Two Fighters

""

The Notorious one has a resume of chaos longer than his winning streak. In 2018, ahead of UFC 223, McGregor hurled a metal dolly at a bus carrying Khabib Nurmagomedov and other fighters, smashing the windows and injuring Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg, who were forced to withdraw from their scheduled bouts. He’s faced sexual assault allegations in Miami (later dropped) and Dublin (where a civil jury found against him). He’s also been caught on a bizarre interview rant, roaring down the camera that Max Holloway “won’t lay a glove on him” and calling Holloway “my son”. The man is a walking circus tent.

Mike Perry — The Pink Panty Incident That Shocked Everyone

""

Mike Perry has always been known for his eccentric behaviour, but in 2026 he outdid himself. The former UFC welterweight turned BKFC star recorded himself on Instagram sniffing, eating, and wearing a pair of women’s pink underwear on his head. Fans were genuinely baffled—one commenter called it “insane even for him”. But that’s not even the half of it. Perry has also sliced himself open trying to smash through a glass door, live-streamed himself bleeding out from a leg cut, and been arrested for DUI. He’s the human equivalent of a car crash you can’t look away from.

Josh Hokit — The WWE Reject Who Turned A Press Conference Into A Nightclub

""

Josh Hokit, a former NFL player turned UFC heavyweight, has built a reputation for bizarre interviews, aggressive trash talk, and viral antics ever since earning a UFC contract. At the chaotic UFC Freedom 250 press conference, he launched into a string of loud, WWE-inspired insults aimed at several fighters, including Ilia Topuria, Alex Pereira, and Derrick Lewis. Security had to escort him out after tensions escalated. Fans called his performance “corny,” “forced,” and “cringe,” with one viral comment describing him as “a little weirdo”. He’s the guy who treats every fight like a Broadway audition.

Rousimar Palhares — The Leg-Lock Maniac Who Wouldn’t Let Go

""

Palhares was a submission specialist—but not the friendly kind. The Brazilian fighter had a habit of holding onto submissions long after his opponents tapped, leaving a trail of broken bodies and torn ligaments. In his final UFC bout, Mike Pierce later said Palhares tried “robbing some of my quality of life”. He was released from the UFC for repeatedly refusing to let go of submissions. He fought like there were no rules—and he made sure everyone around him paid the price.

Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett — The Fighter Who Lived Up To His Name

""

When your nickname is “Krazy Horse,” you know you’re in for a ride. Bennett is known for his explosive fighting style and a life that’s been one long arrest record. Growing up with both parents addicted to crack, he was selling drugs by high school and dropping out altogether. He’s been in and out of jail, and once got into a backstage altercation with Cristiano Marcello—who put him to sleep with a triangle choke before the fight was even broken up. He’s the kind of guy who treats a fight like a warm-up and a backstage scuffle like a main event.

Rafiel Torre — The Fake Black Belt Who Committed Murder

""

This one is the stuff of nightmares. Rafiel Torre was a fake BJJ black belt with an imaginary 14-0 MMA record, fake SEAL past, and a phony Brazilian lineage. He lured Bryan Richards into a gym he owned and strangled him to death with a rear-naked choke. A jury convicted him of premeditated murder, and he’s now serving life without parole in a California prison. Joe Rogan himself became involved in the investigation after speaking to a witness whose phone was wiretapped by police. A fake black belt with a real body count.
